Conditions of Entry CATTLE
1.
Cattle may not be removed before
3.00 p.m.
2.
All bovine over four (4) months must have appropriate nose grips and all bulls
over 12months must have a nose ring. All stock MUST be in charge of exhibitor
or representative at all times.
2. (a) Animals 20
months and under are to be shown in the junior section. Animals up to 48 months will be shown in the
senior section. Affiliated Show may have
a senior up to any age class.
3.
Age for classification as at
1st April, 2012
4.
Cattle must not be introduced unless they are from a property or herd, in which
Johne’s disease has not been known,
or suspected to exist, during the five year period prior to the Show
5.
All exhibitors to have Public Liability Insurance and have same endorsed for
travel to and from Shows
6.
All persons intending to bring electrical equipment to the Show grounds are
required to ensure that such equipment is
fitted with residual current protection and that all electrical leads, tools
and appliances have been inspected and currently
tagged by a licensed electrical contractor.
The use of double adapters is prohibited and all power boards must be tested
and tagged.
7.
Risks identified by exhibitors/competitors will be eliminated or controlled by
the exhibitor/competitor and particular attention
will be paid to ensuring public safety and the safety of other
exhibitors/competitors.
8.
It is the responsibility of each exhibitor to ensure that the leaders of their
stock in judging rings and parades are capable of
exercising
control over the animals in their care. Children under 12 years of age
leading cattle in the Grand Parade to be
accompanied by an adult over 18 years of age.
9.
Each exhibitor/competitor will assess the risk to themselves, staff,
volunteers, family, other exhibitors, show stewards,
show visitors and any person foresee ably affected by the presentation of their
exhibit.
10. The
exhibitors/competitors are required to ensure that they and all persons under
their direction or control comply with all
requirements of the Workplace Health and Safety Act 1995 and the Society holds
each exhibitor responsible to discharge its
obligations to provide and maintain a safe place and system of work during
occupation by the exhibitor/ competitor of any
area of the Showground’s.
11. Stewards
have the right to remove any animal from the Judging Ring if that animal is a
danger to the safety of any person or animal.
12. DPI -
STOCK PERMITS are the responsibility of exhibitors. All cattle must be
accompanied by a DPI Travel permit, endorsed
with treatments performed (if necessary), and an owner waybill.
13. Tick
Clearance: Livestock from clean areas must be sprayed by the Society and a
permit obtained before leaving the grounds.
An approved spray area has been provided by the Show Society. It is the
responsibility of the owner or person-in-charge of the stock
to ensure that the cattle tick requirements (where necessary) have been
fulfilled .
14. It is
forbidden to administer any prohibited drug or cause one to be administered in
any way whatsoever.
15. A
prohibited drug means any substance originating externally to the animal
(whether or not endogenous to the animal) capable of affecting
the
performance or behavior of an animal by its action upon central or peripheral nervous
system, the cardiovascular system, the
respiratory system, the alimentary system, the musclo-skeletal system or the
uro-genital system and shall include analgesics, anti-histamines,
anti-inflammatory agents, blood coagulants, diuretics, hormones and their
synthetic counterparts, cortico-steroids, anabolic-steroids, local
anesthetics, muscle relaxants and tranquillizers and vitamins.
16. Any
exhibit that has been brought to the Showground’s and is found to have had
administered to it any prohibited drug as defined above may,
without prejudice
to any other action which may be taken in respect of the matter, be debarred by
the Show Stewards from competing in any
event for which it may have been entered.
17. All adult
animals must have been fully accepted for registration in the Herd Books of the
respective breeds. All animals not of age for
registration must be progeny of registered sires and dams and recorded in the
calf register of the respective Breed Societies. Proof must be
available.
18. Breeds
are to be judged in three groups - Indicus, European and British
